The Brentwood Community Playground in Crockett Park will be closed for maintenance Friday-Sunday.

"This Saturday, Leadership Brentwood Alumni will be sealing the wood at the Brentwood Community Playground in Crockett Park," says Suzie Ahlberg, a Leadership Brentwood alum.

"It was sealed two years ago and that was the first time since it was built seven years ago," Ahlberg said. "The playground will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we're going to seal it on Saturday."

Spray paint guns and brushes will be used now that the city has power washed the playground, Ahlberg said, looking for volunteers for the task.

"Anybody can work, but they have to be over the age of 13."

Prospective painters in the spirit of Tom Sawyer may call 661-6463 or 373-1595, said Ahlberg, president of the Brentwood and Cool Springs chambers of commerce.

About 300 volunteers are needed for the work scheduled Saturday from 8-11 a.m. Registration at the playground starts at 7:30 a.m. The work will be rescheduled in the event of rain.
