February 21, 1992 Letter to the Executive Director Dear Editor: I was so impressed and delighted when I read Mr. Lance Winslow, III's "letter to the editor" in your February edition of the Business Connection. I have been an active member of a chamber of Commerce for the past 23 years and I can truly say that I have never heard, or read, a better depiction of how important Chambers and Chamber memberships are. Local, State and Federal Governments begin right here at the chamber level. It is the combined voices of these memberships that have the ability to define the community needs and feelings and pass them on to legislators. Having been a small business owner for many years, prior to my election as Assemblywoman in the 38th District, I found the rewards of being associated with a Chamber of Commerce to be many. I can attest that my membership was the best source of obtaining new clients and the very sustenance to keep business flourishing during the "ups and downs" of the economy. I salute Mr. Winslow for his undying faith in the free enterprise system of our great nation and wish him many years of continued success. Sincerely, cc: Lance Winslow, III |
