Local city council decides not to prosecute

m198.jpg (11682 bytes)Citing the cost of possible future litigation, the city of Westlake Village dropped prosecution of a mobile car wash operator for allegedly violating the city's zoning ordinance.

Arraignment had been delayed three times for two women arrested in the incident several weeks ago at The Landing on Lindero Canyon Road.   Leslie Nims, 26, and an associate were cited but not taken into custody.   Nims' truck was impounded but later released.

Nims, with her husband, Lance Winslow, own two mobile car wash operations, Car Wash Gals and Car Wash Guys.  Winslow has been a vocal opponent of the city's position regarding mobile wash operators.

Westlake Village City Attorney Laurence Wiener had briefed city councilmembers about the issue in closed session last week and a decision to drop the case was made then, according to Wiener.
